This blog post was written for a fictional software company, based on my experience with Trados Studio, an actual software tool I have worked with as a translator.

Leading a shift to a software-based workflow at the organization where I work, I’ve learned a lot about resistance to change and the fear of “job-stealing technologies”. I’ve also learned about the ways in which software tools can significantly improve performance and help reduce the workload, while actually making it easier for translators to enjoy the more creative aspects of their job.

Keeping all this in mind, and being aware of the concerns and antagonism harbored by my target audience – professional translators, I wrote this blog post for a fictional company that offers a centralized environment for managing translation projects. The post highlights the benefits for translators of working with AI and ML tools, describing the product as a helpful, game-changing tool specifically designed to serve translators, rather than an intimidating technology aiming to replace them.

Freedom Farm Newsletter

As an animal lover, I have supported the Freedom Farm Sanctuary since it was founded in Israel in 2016.

Given that this non-profit relies heavily on volunteers, I offered free translation services, and was more than happy when I was asked to translate this dontaion request from Hebrew for the Freedom Farm newsletter that was sent out on Rosh HaShana 2018.
